J. Mark Evans, MD
Dr. Mark Evans earned a BA in Natural Sciences with a minor in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, before receiving his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He went on to complete his orthopaedic residency at Downstate/Kings County Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Then, to conclude his formal medical training, Dr. Evans completed a year-long fellowship in hand surgery at Tufts/New England Medical Center in Boston.
In addition to general orthopaedic training, Dr. Evans has earned the Certificate of Added Qualification in hand surgery and takes a special interest in trauma and reconstructive surgery of the hand. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
Active in leadership roles for several professional medical organizations, Dr. Evans has served as President of the Metropolitan Washington DC Society for Surgery of the Hand, President of the Loudoun County Medical Society and as Chairman of the Northern Virginia Medical Societies. He also serves on the National Alumni Schools Committee for Johns Hopkins University and stays involved in the community where he has served on the executive board of the Father’s Association for Potomac School, and as a member of the Board of Trustees for Potomac School.
Dr. Evans and his family reside in the Great Falls area. In his leisure time, he enjoys golf, tennis, and sailing.
