General Orthopaedics

General orthopaedics involves the comprehensive and coordinated treatment of a vast array of musculoskeletal conditions.  Whether a case is routine or extremely complex and rare, general orthopaedists have undergone extensive training in order to address a full spectrum of disorders that may affect the bones, joints, cartilage, muscles, ligaments, and tendons.  From the evaluation and management of degenerative diseases like arthritis to fracture care and complex surgical cases, the services provided by general orthopaedists are wide-ranging and yet individualized to meet the unique needs and goals of each patient.   

As the foundation of the orthopaedic profession, all Commonwealth physicians have been extensively trained in general orthopaedics.  And, while a number of our physicians concentrate on subspecialty areas, many have chosen to stay abreast of the entire spectrum of musculoskeletal care making general orthopaedics their area of expertise.  Using the latest in both operative and non-operative techniques, the ultimate goal of our physicians is to ensure that patients receive outstanding orthopaedic care for their musculoskeletal condition and experience restored or improved quality of life.
