Youth Soccer Coaches Learn How to Keep Players Healthy
More than 25 youth soccer coaches from McLean Soccer Club attended a free workshop sponsored by Commonwealth Orthopaedics and Virginia Hospital Center on Saturday, November 15. Participants learned from medical experts how to prevent ACL injuries; proper stretching and exercises pre-and post-game; proper nutrition/hydration; signs, symptoms and treatments of overuse injuries; and recognizing and preventing concussions. Special thanks to the physicians and physical therapists for helping to educate coaches with McLean Youth Soccer League on how to keep soccer players healthy. Sarah Pettrone, MD
